You’re excited to meet your new baby. But there’s a little part of you wondering what this change will mean for the child who made you a mom first.

How do you make room for a new baby without making your older child feel like they’ve lost their place?

There’s Still Room for You is a gentle, practical guide filled with 10 intentional strategies I’ve used in my own family to minimize sibling jealousy and help our older children continue to feel secure, included, and deeply loved as our family grew.

No perfect parenting. No pressure to make your toddler love every second of becoming a sibling. Just simple, realistic ways to protect connection while everyone adjusts to something new.

Small changes can make a big difference.

Inside, you’ll discover:

  • Why the words we use around the baby can unintentionally make your toddler see the baby as the reason they always have to wait

  • Why sometimes letting the baby wait can be surprisingly meaningful to your older child

  • Simple ways to remind your older child they still have a place—even when your hands are full

  • How to encourage a sibling “team” without making your older child responsible for the baby

  • What to do when the transition isn’t going perfectly—because it doesn’t have to

I’ve brought a baby home to an older sibling twice. And both times, one of the things I cared about most was making sure the child who was already here never felt like the new baby had taken her place.

I’m not a parenting expert — I’m a mom of 3 little girls sharing the small, intentional things that helped our family welcome each new baby with more connection and less jealousy.

Some of them were things I started doing intentionally. Others were things I learned along the way. Together, they completely shaped the way I think about bringing a new baby into a family.

You don’t need to navigate this transition perfectly. You can navigate it intentionally. And you can start before you ever bring your baby home.
